Grant Funding
The Chicago Greektown Educational Foundation is accepting applications for grants to eligible Greek language schools for calendar year 2023.
Grants can be used for a variety of projects and materials including, but not limited to, subscriptions for Ellinopoula Greek language software, books, software, audio-visual equipment, and classroom equipment (i.e., desks, chairs, dividers, office equipment). Funds must be used within one year of the application deadline.
Available Awards
The amount of the grants awarded vary due to the number of application submissions, as well as the availability of funds from the Chicago Greektown Educational Foundation’s fundraising efforts.
Due to the highly competitive nature of the grant requests, we can only provide funds to a fraction of those who apply. If you would like to donate funds so that we can provide more awards, please do so on website at www.greektowneducation.com/donations/cgef/
Eligibility
To qualify for a grant, a school must teach the Greek language to students in the State of Illinois or surrounding states and must submit an application that generally describes the specific need for grant funding and answers the following questions:
- Provide an overview of the project or program that you are hoping to complete in your classroom should you be awarded the materials you are applying for.
- If you are requesting a grant for subscriptions to Ellinopoula Greek language software or Greek 123 software, please identify whether you have used such software in the past, along with the number of active student subscriptions you have utilized at each classroom level.
- In a 2-column table, list the items you want to purchase and their approximate cost. Include a total cost at the bottom of the table.
- Describe in detail what led you to seek funding. Include information about the specific needs of your students, class, school, and/or community. Also include if you considered any research.
- Describe in detail how the program, project, or materials will be used and implemented. Include lesson plans, unit overviews, additional people involved and timelines as necessary.
- Describe in detail the impact that the purchased materials will have on your students, school, or community. Include information on specific benefits you hope to see and how you will be able to judge your own success.
Please do not include any identifying information for any students in your materials. Funds must be used within one year of the application deadline. Receipts and invoices for funding requested must be submitted to the foundation within the year. The application deadline is October 1, 2023. All materials must be emailed to the Chicago Greektown Educational Foundation at info@greektowneducation.com by the deadline date. Incomplete or late applications will not be considered.
