The Chicago Greektown Educational Foundation (CGEF) is a 501 (c) 3 nonprofit organization with the mission to support Greek language educational and cultural initiatives through the introduction of technology to enhance the learning experience for Greek American youth. We believe that when language and culture are preserved, children learn pride in themselves and respect for one another.
Since 2014, the Chicago Greektown Educational Foundation has dedicated itself to providing resources for Greek language education. From Smart Boards and learning stations to Chromebooks, the CGEF has provided the resources to support Greek language programs in the Chicago area. Our goal is to expand our efforts and support Greek language programs across the United States. Fulfilling this goal furthers the mission of incorporating technology and educational initiatives into the learning process.
In 2017, the CGEF provided grants to eight different Greek schools. The CGEF is now offering grants to Greek schools for the 2018-2019 school year. Attached is a grant proposal form that can be used to request funding from the CGEF. We will consider all requests that include all required information for financial assistance submitted by August 17, 2018. All grant recipients will be required to submit receipts and a description of how the items were utilized.
