History

The Chicago Greektown Educational Foundation was formed in 2014 as a 501 (c) 3 NPO, to support the efforts of those working tirelessly to preserve the Greek language and culture. In 2016, the Foundation began developing initiatives to assist Greek language educators with what we view as the essential task of integrating technology into modern Greek curricula.

Beginning in 2016, several parishes sought financial assistance for materials and supplies to enhance and maintain their Greek school programs. This Foundation has granted more than $15,000 to Greek schools in the Chicago area including: St. George Hellenic School, Solon Greek School, Guardian Angel Orthodox Day School, Pythagoras Greek School, and the National Hellenic Museum School.

The Foundation, has since 2014, partnered with Special Service Area #16 in Greektown, to ensure that all Greek Americans have access to a Greek community and education.
